Unanswered questions

[edit]

This article, while interesting and informative, leaves a number of obvious questions unanswered.

- What oath is referred to? An oath of loyalty to the king? To the country? An oath of duty or obedience, rather than loyalty? Did every government official take the same oath, or was it different for army officers, civil servants, etc.?

- And how can the prime minister resign after being assassinated? Was he due to resign? Planning to resign? Was he wounded, resigned, and then died?

I clarified the point of Eisners assasination, alternativly, a look at the Eisner article could have done the same!
Regarding the oath, this link, which I have added to the references, may clarify the question about the oath. It's only in German, however, but says:
German:lch schwöre Treue dem Könige, Gehorsam dem Gesetze und Beobachtung der Staats-Verfassung, so wahr mit Gott helfe und sein heiliges Evangelium
English:I swear loyalty to the King, obidience to the (Bavarian) constitution, so help me God
I do however think, that the implications of the oath and its precise meaning are not truely part of this article. EA210269 (talk) 09:25, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Confusion

[edit]

The declaration did not end "the 738-year rule of the House of Wittelsbach in Bavaria". The declaration of a republic ended the monarchy. Neither declaration had any legal status.125.237.105.102 (talk) 08:08, 6 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
